It is believed ‘Seersucker’ originates from the Persian ‘shir-o shakar’ which means ‘milk and sugar’. Milk represents the smooth texture and sugar the bumps, that make this fabric so special. A seersucker is timeless, does not need ironing, masks wrinkles and pulls away from the body, making it breathable and therefore normally perfect for summer wear. Generally make from Cotton or mixes.
